3 THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I GOT MARRIED -NAAFIAHREVEALZ SUBMITTED

10/29/2013 05:30:00 AM 0 Comments

    • From: Tyler Ward
I used to think I had my stuff together. Then I got married.
Marriage is great—but it rocked everything I knew. I quickly realized my basic goal in life, prior to getting married, was to simply remain undisturbed.
This “disruption” came suddenly and was disguised as a 5-foot-nothing Swedish-Filipino woman. When I decided I’d rather not live without her, I proceeded to ask her to marry me—that is, to officially invite someone who wasn’t me to be in my personal space for the rest of my life.
This decision introduced my most significant experiences and most challenging experiences—none of which I would trade for the world.
However, I wish I’d had a bit more insight on the front end of our marriage to help me navigate it all.
According to most research, more than 50 percent of people who say “I do” will not be sleeping in the same bed eight years from now. And though Scripture alludes to the fact that adultery and abuse may be reasons individuals might end a marriage, I’d be willing to bet that most challenges experienced in marriage are the result of unawareness.
Most people—myself included—jump into marriage with suitcases full of misconceptions and bad theology, entirely unaware of the unique beauty and paradoxical intentions of marriage.
The following are three thoughts on marriage that friends and mentors have shared with me. I remind myself of them often in hopes of keeping this anomaly called marriage both enjoyable and healthy.

    1. Marriage is not about living happily ever after.

Here’s the truth: I get annoyed at my wife. But this is more a reflection of me than her.
I’m intensely certain that nothing in life has ever made me more angry, frustrated or annoyed than my wife. Inevitably, just when I think I’ve given all I can possibly give, she somehow finds a way to ask for more.
The worst part of it all is that her demands aren’t unreasonable. One day she expects me to stay emotionally engaged. The next, she's looking for me to validate the way that she feels. The list goes on—but never ventures far from things she perfectly well deserves as a wife.
Unfortunately for her, deserving or not, her needs often compete with my self-focus. I know it shouldn’t be this way, but I am selfish and stubborn and, overall, human.
I once read a book that alluded to the idea that marriage is the fire of life—that somehow it’s designed to refine all our dysfunction and spur us into progressive wholeness. In this light, contrary to popular opinion, the goal of marriage is not happiness. And although happiness is often a very real byproduct of a healthy relationship, marriage has a far more significant purpose in sight. It is designed to pull dysfunction to the surface of our lives, set it on fire and help us grow.
When we’re willing to see it this way, then the points of friction in our marriages quickly become gifts that consistently invite us into a more whole and fulfilling experience of life.

    2. The more you give to marriage, the more it gives back.

Over the past year, a few friends and I have had an open conversation about the highs and lows of marriage—specifically how to make the most of the high times and avoid the low ones. Along the way, we happened upon a derailing hypothesis that goes something like this: If one makes their husband or wife priority number one, all other areas of life benefit.
It’s a disorienting claim. Disorienting, because it protests my deeper persuasion that success as an entrepreneur, or any professional, requires that career takes the throne of my priorities and remain there for, at the very least, a couple of years.
However, seeing that my recent pattern of caring about work over marriage had produced little more than paying bills and a miserable wife, I figured giving the philosophy a test drive couldn’t hurt.
For 31 days, I intentionally put my wife first over everything else, and then I tracked how it worked. I created a metric for these purposes, to mark our relationship as priority, and then my effectiveness in all other areas of my life on the same scale, including career productivity and general quality of life.
To my surprise, a month later, I had a chart of data and a handful of ironic experiences to prove that the more you give to marriage, the more it gives back.
Notably, on the days my wife genuinely felt valued, I observed her advocating for me to invest deeply in to my work. She no longer saw our relationship and my career pursuits as competitors for my attention, and as she partnered with me in my career, I have experienced the benefits of having the closest person in my life champion me.
Of course, marriage requires sacrifice. And sometimes it will feel as if it takes and takes. However, when we return marriage to its rightful place in our priorities, it can quickly turn from something we have to maintain and sacrifice for into the greatest asset to every other layer of our lives.

    3. Marriage can change the world.

John Medina, the author of Brain Rules and a Christian biologist, is often approached by men looking for the silver bullet of fathering. In one way or another, they all come around to asking, “What’s the most important thing I can do as a father?”
Medina's answer alludes to a surprising truth.
In my previously mentioned experiment, I measured the effect that making my marriage priority number one had on different areas of my life. One of those areas was my 16-month-old son’s behavior.
What I found in simply charting my observations was that the majority of the time, my child’s behavior was directly affected by the level of intention I invested in my marriage.
Re-enter John Medina, the Christian biologist. After years of biological research and several books on parenting conclusions, what is his answer to the question, “What’s the most important thing I can do as a father”?
“Go home and love your wife.”
Gary Ezzo and Robert Bucknam, the authors of Babywise, say it this way: “A healthy marriage creates an infused stability within the family and a haven of security for a child in their development process.” They go on to sum up their years of research by saying, “In the end, great marriages produce great parents.”
The point is that marriage has a higher goal than to make two people happy or even whole. Yes, the investment we make into our marriage pays dividends for us. But, concluded by Medina and his colleagues, the same investment also has significant implications for our family, our community and eventually our culture.
So men, women, the next time you find yourself dreaming about living significantly or succeeding in your career or being a better parent than yours were to you, do the world a favor: Go home and love your wife. Go home and and love your husband.

These are the celebrities, spokesmen and women, famous supporters and endorsers of the Direct Selling – Network Marketing – MLM Industry.
These are the individuals who believe in the products and the Business Model – celebrities who approve and encourage the MLM, Network Marketing and Direct Selling industry. They speak at events and conventions. They are associated with pride.
They are very successful individuals who do not understand why some people have ‘pyramid objections’. Investors such as; Warren Buffett (Pampered Chef), billionaires like Carl Icahn, George Soros and William Stiritz who invested hundreds of millions (Herbalife), and Vincent Tan (Epic, Ecosway).
Former President of the United States Bill Clinton who has thanked the Direct Selling industry in a speech, Dr. Memhet Oz(USANA, Vemma), Donald Trump (ACN) and Madeleine Albright (Amway), who have been keynote speakers at conventions and many more.
Just about any product or service can be purchased through direct selling somewhere in the world.
Many people think of cosmetics, wellness products and home décor as products that are often sold through direct sales, but add to that countless other product categories including kitchen products, jewelry, clothing, organic gardening supplies, spa products, scrapbooking supplies, rubber stamps and much, much more.

SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 3 & GALAXY GEAR : POWER COUPLE

10/22/2013 10:29:00 PM 0 Comments

Review: Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear as new power couple?

By Andy Vuong
The Denver Post
POSTED:   10/21/2013 12:01:00 AM MDT

Samsung is advertising its new Galaxy Note 3 "phablet" smartphone and its Galaxy Gear smartwatch, above left, as the new power couple, but only the Note 3 is worth the hype. The Galaxy Gear's limitedapps make it not ready for prime time. (SeongJoon Cho, Bloomberg)

Samsung is marketing the Galaxy Note 3 "phablet" and Galaxy Gear smartwatch as the new power couple.
Unfortunately for the manufacturer, only one device lives up to the hype.
The Note 3, a cross between a phone and tablet thanks to its larger 5.7-inch touchscreen display, is a worthy follow-up to the Note 2. In fact, it is the type of update we should see more often, rather than the incremental upgrades pushed out this year with the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S.
With the Note 3, Samsung manages to pack a bigger screen into a thinner and lighter frame. The differences are instantly noticeable to anyone who's handled the Note 2, which features a 5.5-inch display.
The company also replaced the trademark plastic back cover found on its flagship phones that made the devices feel cheaper when compared with the iPhone 5's glass body. The Note 3 sports a faux-leather back cover with fake stitching around the edges, giving the device a somewhat elegant appearance.
Strangely, as others have noted, the black version of the Note 3 feels more like leather than the white version.
The new design is a vast improvement over the plastic predecessor, while maintaining the ability to be easily removed for access to the battery and microSD slot.
The Android-powered Note 3 is indeed a mini-computer, equipped with 3 gigabytes of RAM and a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor. Those internals allow the device to handle pretty much anything mobile app designers can throw at it.
Samsung added new software features to pair with the included stylus, or S Pen. Most notable is Action Memo, which can read a handwritten word or number as though it were typed. For example, a user can jot down a phone number with the S Pen and quickly call the number through the Action Memo program. It works most of the time, even with messy handwriting.
As expected, the battery life on the Note 3 is fantastic, simply because of its size. A full day's use will typically drain less than 50 percent of the juice, eliminating the need for a back-up charger at work or in the car, something iPhone and other smartphone owners have grown accustomed to.
A must-have accessory, although pricey at $60, is the S-View Flip Cover. The cover features a window about half the size of the screen that gives users quick access to the camera and music apps. Calls can also be answered while the cover is closed with a swipe over the window.
The Note 3 won't appeal to as many users as the Samsung's Galaxy S4 because of its size, but it is the superior device. The phone is available from all four major wireless carriers. AT&T and Verizon sell it for $300 with a two-year contract. The retail price without a contract is about $700.
Galaxy Gear
Now, onto to the disappointing Galaxy Gear smartwatch. While it is stylish and features a responsive, 1.6-inch touchscreen display, the watch simply doesn't do enough to warrant its $300 price tag.
Currently, it works only with the Note 3 and the latest Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, though the company has said it will be compatible with other Samsung devices, such as the S4, in the near future.
To set up the watch, you first have to touch the Note 3 with the Gear's charging base, which activates the installation of the Gear-manager software onto the phone. The Gear manager allows you to pick the style of the time-piece display, install apps and change other settings on the watch. The watch pairs with the Note 3 via Bluetooth and the devices have to be within roughly 25 feet of each other to stay connected.
The Gear isn't a total dud because it does improve on shortcomings of previous smartwatches. The battery life is acceptable, offering about two day's of use on a single charge.
And the Gear actually looks good on the wrist, similar to Martian's smartwatch and unlike Motorola's bulky Motoactv watch.
During about three weeks' of testing, I found just a few worthwhile uses for the watch, other than to tell time.
First, answering calls while driving works well enough with a swipe on the display. The person on the other end won't be able to tell that you're talking through the watch's microphone, which, along with the speaker, is integrated into the band's clasp. However, the sound you hear is similar to having a smartphone on speaker, and placing calls through the watch is a pain because of the small display.
Second, the watch allows for quick and easy captures of decent-quality images and video with the 2-megapixel camera that's on the front of the band, though the recordings are limited to 15 seconds each.
Third, the media controller on the watch is handy to start, stop and advance music when the Note 3 is paired with an external Bluetooth speaker.
Receiving appointment and text notifications on the watch could be useful for those who carry their phone in a purse. But while you can read text messages on the watch, you can respond to them only by using the S Voice feature, which is a frustration waiting to happen. It's not the worth the trouble.
The biggest drawback, besides the lack of compatibility with other devices, is that the initial apps included with the Gear are limited and virtually useless. Some just don't work.
You can receive Facebook notifications on the watch, but can't see the contents. You also can't read or send e-mails.
Samsung didn't even release a simple Starbucks app, which was included with the Android-based smartwatch from WIMM Labs, a company Google recently acquired. The WIMM Labs watch was released nearly two years ago. A golf GPS app, like the one featured on Motorola's Motoactv Golf Edition, would also seem like a no-brainer.
Personally, I'm a Note 3 owner, but won't consider purchasing the Gear until Samsung adds more programs and functionality to the watch.

5000 VISITORS IN THIRTY DAYS -KIM ROACH

10/18/2013 11:30:00 AM 0 Comments

So, you’ve created an EPIC blog post, hit the publish button, and then waited for the traffic to start pouring in to see your brilliant creation.
Unfortunately, all you heard were crickets. Of course your mom visited the site and said it was AMAZING. She’s your #1 fan :)
But she’s also the ONLY fan…
Because you’re missing a critical piece of the blogging puzzle.
It doesn’t matter how great your content is. Without actively promoting your content, your blog is STILL going to be a ghost town.
* Content is not king if nobody can see it. *
So you’ve got to flip the formula on it’s head…
Spend 20% of your time creating epic content. And spend 80% of your
time promoting that content.
I can hear the whiners now…. “But Kim, it took me an entire day to
create that blog post. I don’t have time to now go out and spend hours promoting it.”
If that’s the case – you probably don’t have time to build a successful online business and this article probably isn’t for you.
But… if you want to get 5,000 visitors to your next blog post… (WITHOUT Google) – then grab some coffee and let’s get ROCKIN :)

1. Twitter Tribes.

One of the first things I like to do after I publish my content is to ‘seed’ it inside a variety of Twitter Tribes.
One of my favorite Twitter Tribes is called JustRetweet.com.
JustRetweet is a social sharing community that works together
to promote each others content.
Kind of like a ‘you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours.’
But… the cool part is that they have a ton of content that you’ll be proud to share with your tribe.
Plus, they’ve also added support for Facebook likes and Google
Plus One votes.
The site works on a credit based system. As you share other people’s content within the community you earn ‘credits’ that allow you to get shares and retweets on your own content.
You can also buy credits – which are extremely affordable as well.
This is a super simple strategy for getting your first 20-30 retweets
and Facebook likes. Which will immediately kick off your first bit
of momentum.
Two other great Twitter Tribes you can join are Triberr.com and ViralContentBuzz.com.
Additional Resources:

2. Google Plus Communities

Google Plus is here to stay. After many attempts at building a social network to compete with the likes of Facebook and Twitter – it looks like Google has finally hit upon a winner.
And… it’s a great tool for driving hundreds of visitors to your
latest blog post. Regardless of how many followers you have.
That’s the beauty of this particular strategy. All you need to do is setup a good profile on Google Plus. You can then leverage existing audiences on Google Plus via Communities.
Communities are the ‘secret sauce’ inside Google Plus.
These are basically large groups of people based around common interests. They’re kind of like mini-forums.
Plus, it’s one of my favorite ways to find cool and interesting conversations on Google Plus.
You can search for related communities here:
Once you join some related groups – you’ll find out there are
actually a LOT of interesting conversations going on within Google Plus.
In fact, it’s becoming one of my favorite social networks. Plus, it’s a LOT less crowded.
And it should DEFINITELY be part of your content promotion checklist.
First, start engaging with 5-10 related communities. By this I mean
joining in on the conversation. Adding value. Voting up OTHER people’s content.
Like any social media platform – you need to provide VALUE first.
Engage first.
Then, whenever you have a really good blog post that you’d like to
share – simply post a link to your favorite 5-10 related communities.
Then sit back and watch the traffic roll in :)
Additional Resources:

3. Email Trumps All.

Sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus can be very powerful tools for promoting your content – but your biggest media channel will ALWAYS be your email subscriber list.
We personally use our subscriber list to generate 2,000+ visitors
PER email.
Imagine the power of being able to send that much traffic simply
by pushing the ‘SEND’ button.
Your business should be BUILT on email. Building a community of
raving fans who look forward to your next email.
This is THE #1 asset in your business.
And it allows you to build instant momentum for EVERY blog post.

4. Facebook Sponsored Stories (In the News Feed).

Here’s one of my secret sources… If you want to promote your content quickly WITHOUT all the elbow grease, then Facebook Sponsored Stories are going to be your new love affair :)
This is one of the best ways to ‘seed’ your content and start gaining virality.
Promote your content using Facebook Sponsored stories in the News Feed.
This has become one of my favorite ways to generate highly targeted traffic on demand.
You simply post a new story on your fan page. (a.k.a your latest blog post)
And then you setup an ad to promote that post.
Using Facebook you can laser-target your audience by choosing exactly which Fan pages you want to target. So you simply choose 3-5 highly related fan pages that your post will be promoted to.
This is the ‘audience’ that will see your post.
But there’s one small tweak you need to make to get the best results. This is the ‘secret sauce’…
What I do is I first create my ad in the traditional Facebook Ad Manager. Then from there I go into what’s called the ‘Power Editor’ and customize the audience so that my story is ONLY shown in the News Feed.
This will give you MANY more visitors for a MUCH lower price.
Facebook is quickly becoming one of the best places to build and grow your business.
Additional Resources:

5. Content Syndication.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my secret spots for a quick injection of traffic. These are social communities (kind of like Digg in the old days) where you can share your content and vote / comment on other people’s content as well.
Here are my Top Picks:
Other Niche Social Networks where you can Share Your Content…
Care2.com
PFBuzz.com (Personal Finance)
Yakezie
Dogster
Catster
Gentlemint.com – Pinterest for men
But keep in mind the key to getting the most benefit out of any community is getting involved. (a.k.a not being a douche who just comes and drops your link.)
These are amazing communities with awesome people that you can meet. Plus, it’s great for sourcing content that you can share within your social media profiles as well.
Provide massive value to the community – and it will deliver massive value back :)
Additional Resources:

6. Content Aggregators.

If you’re publishing great content on a weekly basis – you can get hundreds of extra visitors from sites like AllTop.com, Affposts.com, AffBuzz.com, and AffDaily.com. These are content aggregators that pull in the best content from around the web.
AllTop.com is perfect for ANY blogger because they have sections for almost every topic under the sun.
So whether you blog about pets or parenting – this is a great passive
traffic pipeline you can tap into.
And the cool thing is they’re always looking for new blogs to publish.
Simply find a relevant category and submit your blog at:
Or – if you have a site related to affiliate marketing, SEO, or blogging then you can get hundreds of new weekly visitors from sites like BloggerScope.com, Affposts.com, AffBuzz.com, and AffDaily.com.

7. Scoop.it

Scoop.it is my one-stop shop for getting fresh new traffic to EVERY blog post.
Scoop.it is content curation at it’s best. With thousands of different topics and curators who collect their favorite content from around the web.
And the best part is – you can ‘suggest’ your latest blog post with just a few clicks.
You’ll see a link at the top of each Scoop.it pages that allows you to submit a suggested link. It takes all of 10 seconds to suggest your link.
If the creator of that page decides to share your link, it gets published and any followers of that page also get notified (instant backlink and high-quality traffic).
I recommend submitting your content to at least 20 Scoop.it pages for each new blog post you publish.
Additional Resources:

8. Forum Marketing. The unsung hero.

There are currently millions of conversations taking place around the web about parenting, photography, fitness, pet care, personal finance, traveling, and every other topic under the sun.
Forums are hot spots of conversation where like-minded people get
together to talk about their shared passions.
Making it also one of the best hot spots for generating laser-targeted traffic.
Create some good content, post it on a popular forum in your market and you can start generating traffic within 5 minutes of posting.
There is simply no other strategy out there that works this quickly,
this effectively, and completely for free.
Forum marketing is an unsung hero that can drive thousands of visitors per month in ANY market.
When I first got started online, this was the main strategy I used to start building my subscriber list.
When my dad started his first website I recommended that he do the same.
But he took it to an entirely new level.
Generating 14,000+ visitors per month in a tiny, weird little niche…
‘Tennessee Walking Horses’
He found what I like to call his ‘Big Kahuna’. One big forum with rapidly passionate members who LOVED his videos.
This was his main traffic source when he first got started.
Of course I encouraged him to also build a subscriber list so now
he OWNS the traffic and can funnel it at will whenever he sends out
an email. Forum traffic is like a honeypot. But you want to collect
as much as that honey as possible and store it up for the winter.
(a.k.a getting them on your subscriber list :)
So go to Google – find the most active forums within YOUR market, and start engaging with the community. Provide over-the-top value and link to your squeeze page or blog in your signature file.
I think you’ll be surprised at what a ‘traffic powerhouse’ this can be.
Plus, what’s nice about forum traffic is that it’s generally VERY high converting. The traffic is laser-targeted and converts quickly into subscribers AND sales.
We’ve seen a 10% conversion rate into sales from our forum traffic. (tracked using Adtrackz Gold)
Average conversion rate for a sales letter is 2%. Forums got us 10% because this is some of the most targeted traffic you can get.
It just doesn’t get any better than that.
Old-School is still ROCKIN!

9. Blogger Outreach.

I’ve saved the best for last :)
If you have a valuable piece of content that you want shared around
the blogosphere, the very best thing you can do is to contact 100-200
related bloggers.
You can find related bloggers using sites like:
Technorati.com
WeFollow.com
Twellow.com
FindPeopleOnPlus.com
CircleCount.com
AllTop.com
Topsy.com
FanPageList.com
Create a list of 100 influencers within your market.
You can do this within Excel or using a more sophisticated program
like BuzzStream or GroupHigh.
After you’ve built your list you’ll need to send a personalized
message to each blogger.
This works out even better if you’ve included a link to their website
in the article itself.
Here’s a sample email…
Subject Line: I Love Pat Flynn! (and your latest podcast :)
Hey Pat!
Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know
how much I enjoyed your latest podcast with Neil Patel.
ROCKIN!
Shared it on Facebook and encouraged all of my readers
to listen in as well.
Also wanted to let you know I’ve included SmartPassiveIncome.com
in our latest blog post at:
http://mytrafficmentor.com/23-steps-to-100000-visitors/
