Here’s something that’s obvious and yet most people, at least initially, struggle with and decide to fight a battle not worth fighting.
Talking to the RIGHT people.
There are TWO ways to do this business.
The EASY way or the HARD way.
Dan Kennedy, the great direct response marketing legend, calls it “Message to Market match”.
And you know it’s so crucial to do, because you can waste days, weeks, months and YEARS of your life… and lose lots of CASH, talking and/or marketing to the wrong crowd.
Another legendary marketer and copywriter the late Gary Halbert once said… “if you were selling a steak, and you could pick ANY characteristic of a perfect market, what would it be?”.
The answer is… “a hungry crowd”.
You get a get a hungry crowd in front of your offer and they’ll be fighting to get to the order now button.
But for some reason, when it comes to Network Marketing, most aren’t trained that way from the get go.
Not everyone is your prospect.
Logically, you can justify the “NEED” for your product, service or business opportunity to anyone.
Sure, EVERYONE needs what you have.
But does that mean they WANT IT?
As common sense as it sounds, I know I’m not the only one who’ve struggled with this.
Because when you’re excited about something, and aren’t trained as an expert marketer… you simply want everyone to join you.
And I had to battle this mindset for a long time.
It’s why “chasing friends and family” is NOT the best way to build a business, and a sure-fire way to lose credibility with many for a long time.
It was years before some of my relatives opened up to the idea that I actually know what I’m talking about, because I was just a kid who’s doin’ “that thing”, you know that lowly pyramid mlm deal.
That’s how people look at it, and trying to convince them is not the best approach… well in my opinion at least.
Now look, right now the economy is in shambles. No matter where you live.
Yeah, I know we’re supposed to be positive, but stick with me, there’s GOOD NEWS there…
In US, the unemployment numbers are at an all time high. almost 4 years of above 8% unemployment. And that’s the “official” number, which is a lie, it’s actually a lot higher, when you count all the people who are off of unemployment benefits.
Inflation is high, don’t believe the press. Just look at the price of gas and food.
A friend of mine, who’s a doctor and makes mid-6 figures, recently told my wife she’s concerned that ready-made chicken from the grill in Costco went up by $2 or so in the last 2 years.
I chuckled and told my wife if she’s concerned, what about the rest of the country.
But the “best” news of all, best for us, is people are FINALLY coming to grips with the fact that…
1. There’s NO such thing as a good, secure, and safe job.

2. And (for most people) their income is not enough to live, travel, save for retirement, college education, etc…

So naturally there are a TON of people right now that are thinking about this ALL THE TIME.
In the 90′s, when the economy was booming, people weren’t as nearly as open as they are today.
But now it’s a whole different story.
Does that mean that everyone is your prospect?
Not at all.
Only the people that are raising their hand and showing signs of life are.
Meaning you should only focus on the people that are ready to make the change.
Ready to do something different.
As unfortunate as that is, most still won’t.
They won’t get off their lazy butts, turn off the TV, and go do something with their lives.
It’s just easier to blame the government, the economy, their aunt or whoever.
But there ARE people right at this very moment, that have realized they bought into the WRONG DREAM.
They were sold the WRONG PLAN.
And they are willing to go and do something different.
They are the “hungry crowd”.
They are the ones you want to talk to and spend time, effort, energy, and resources to get your message in front of.
There’s a great saying I’ve adopted from my original days in MLM, that took me awhile to come to grips with, but is one of the most important attitudes to develop in business…
… “I only want to talk to people who want to talk to me.”
If you’re in a health niche, of course everyone “needs” and “should” have your product.
But business doesn’t work on “need” and “should”. They have to WANT IT.
They have to be sick and tired of their situation, be it health, financial or whatever… and that is the ONLY THING that will motivate them to act.
You focus your message at the “right crowd” and you’ll have a lot less stress and lots more profitable days.
Cheers,

Sign on-Emperor I can't stress the importance This particular  lesson.  Once I got this my productivity increased 1000 times what it had been, literally!  My focus, energy, attitude, and confidence all went through the roof!!  It was a very different feeling explaining my opportunity to an interested  potential partner(prospect), then to beg my aunt to pleeeeeasse join me because she NEEDS to...
Well, great to see your thoughts as they help us all to grow as the TOP Team WE ARE!
