That’s what the envelope I got last night read. It said that I can get my hands on money fast, by tomorrow, and it only takes a few seconds to apply online. Credit doesn’t matter. Bankruptcy, foreclosure, judgements…. don’t matter. So what’s the catch? 
Well, it’ s in tiny print at the bottom of the back page that the APR (interest you pay back) is going to be between 299.17% to 378.95%.
 And it even highlights that they’re proud it’s much less than one of their competitor’s, who charges an average of 706.08% interest. Yes, that’s ANNUAL interest. WOW! And you thought credit cards were bad. This is highway robbery (for REAL)… By the way this is 4th or 5th letter I got from them. 
I have NO IDEA why. But that’s how these criminals get you. They lure you in with easy credit, access to cash, buy now pay later and all the other shennanigans. And then… Then one day you wake up and… … 
YOU GOT BILLZ! 
Tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt, that you can barely afford to make payments on. And most of your payment goes right into THEIR pocket with high interest charges, meaning… You will NEVER pay your debts off. 
You’re not supposed to. That’s what keeps THEM in business. And there’s only ONE remedy for that. That’s after you commit to STOP spending and borrowing, and that is… 

 MAKE MORE FRIGGIN’ MONEY! 
I’ve always scoffed the idea of “budgeting.” Even though I was a financial adviser for many years, I’ve always believed that you can rearrange the chairs on Titanic all you want… But if the sucker is going down… IT’s GOING DOWN! And the only way to get yourself out of debt and stay out of debt, is NOT to spend less than you make… (that’s poverty thinking)… But instead…

 Make MORE than you spend!

 Instead of learning how to cut back, learn how to make more. I know, I know, sounds like a bunch of rah-rah. But I promise it’s not. Making money and building wealth is all about your ATTITUDE. And the decisions you make on a daily basis are either going to move you towards making money and having more cash in your bank… Or away from it. 

 Money is nothing but E-N-E-R-G-Y. 

 You either attract it or repel it with your thoughts, feelings and actions. 
Notice I didn’t just say thoughts or actions. It’s thoughts, feelings, AND actions. And actually, there’s one more that comes before that. What triggers thoughts? 
It’s the WORDS you say. 
It’s the conversation you have going on inside. 
Your inner self-talk. 
You can take the “right” actions, but if you have the “wrong” attitude… if you’re always worried and/or acting out desperation, guess what? 
IT WON’T WORK! You’ll sabotage yourself and all your efforts. Something that happens all to often. Like when I hear people say… 
“I hope this works, I’m on my last dime”… 
“I’m going to give this one last shot and if doesn’t work, I’m done with this”…
 “I hope I don’t screw this up”…
 “I need to get this going quickly or I can’t afford to do this anymore”… 
“When I see some proof it works, I’ll believe it”… 
“I’m just struggling to stay afloat”… 
“I just hope things will get better soon”… Or some variation of these. 
We think 60,000+ thoughts a day. 
And for MOST people, about 80% of them are negative and destructive.
They’re holding them back, and most don’t even know it. 
By the way, there’s a little old book I highly recommend.
“What To Say When You Talk To Your Self” by Shad Helmstetter. It’ll help your forever change how to talk yourself. A big return for a measly few dollar investment. I think you can grab it on Amazon for $7. 
Your success will always depend on what you think and what you tell yourself most. 
Expect the best, tell yourself so, and there’s a GOOD CHANCE that’s what you’ll end up getting. 
When you have debts, and you FOCUS on it, thinking about, thinking about repaying, thinking about staying out of it… … that is what you will get. 
More of what you focus on. 
More debt. 
That is EXACTLY why people are in debt and can’t get out of it, even when they desperately try. (a BAD word to think and say to yourself) And keep in mind that the banks who have BILLIONS at stake will do everything in their power to keep you in debt forever. 
That’s why “debt” programs from your local bank are a SCAM. 
Notice they’re not called “how to make more money” programs. I wonder why. But when, not if, but WHEN you focus on making more money, more than enough to pay off your debt… more than enough to pay for all your expenses… 

 and plenty more left over for other fun things you’d like to do and have… 

 THAT IS WHAT YOU’ll ATTRACT! 

 The change is instant and it works.

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Mo!

So now I need some sort of product/service to promote.  There's so many companies out there to choose from, how do you pick.  I figure I'd narrow them down to 3 that offer some significant value to my family and I, and I found 3 winners.  One offers a service that no family should be without.  Another, just makes perfect sense considering today's economy.  The other is must-have for the  environmentally conscious.  However, in order to get up and running with any one of them I need...you guessed it! Cash.  

A Humble Beginning

So after a couple of conversations with The Hip Hop Marketer  +Emperor NervRakrZ  (Hi, Honey!), I now know that there are companies that I can work with that require no start up money.  I can begin to establish my presence online as an affiliate marketer.  He informed me that a website is nothing without traffic, and he knows of a company that's willing to pay individuals (even with no experience) for bringing traffic to their website.  Supposedly, this particular site is a good match for me.  The work could be done in my spare time, and I could get paid even if the viewers choose not to spend so much as a dime, as crazy as that sounds....So my plan now is to get as many people as possible to check out the site.



A Helping Hand

I feel a bit reluctant to reach out to family and friends.  Unfortunately, they are not always the most supportive group when it comes to businesses like these.  But we'll see.  Maybe my big bro +Bernard Jackson Jr  will surprise me and join my offer.  (HINT, HINT!!!!)  This is going to be interesting.

How To Book A Show!!! -CDBaBY

Have you been practicing for months and now you’re ready to start gigging?
Have you been out of the game for a while, and now you’re thinking about dipping a toe back into the waters of live music?
Well, our friends at Music Think Tank have shared some great advice on booking your first gig (or your first gig in a while). Check it out HERE for full details, but I’ll paraphrase author Simon Tam’s advice below.

7 tips to booking your first gig

1. Find the right venue- Make sure you’re asking to play in venues appropriate for your genre. Oh, and aim small, and here’s why!
2. Book at least 2-4 months in advance- Booking agents are like professional jugglers. They’ve got to dangle hundreds of bands at once, pair them up, and slot them into empty dates on their venue’s calendar. That takes time, so give them plenty of it.
3. Don’t send attachments- Do not send attachments in your booking request email. That’s a sure way to end up in the junk folder, and bookers might delete your message. Instead, leave a clear link to a place online where they can go and hear your music, read your press, etc. For more info on how to email booking agents, check out our article “Why You Don’t Need a Press Kit: How to Book Your Band in the Age of Email.”
4. Read their booking requirements- Don’t forget to check the venue’s website for their booking requirements and suggestions. What nights do they host music? How do they prefer to be contacted? Are there any stage restrictions? Finding this info out first will help you when you’re asking for a gig.
5. 2 paragraphs or less- You’ve got to state your case quickly for why you’ll put on a great show that will draw fans to their venue. Be succinct and honest. Don’t waste their time.
6. Give options- Be flexible, if possible, and provide a date-range or a few specific options for show dates.
7. Ask for help- Other bands can be your biggest allies in the booking game. Ask them for advice and try to build a bill yourself with similar acts. Then pitch that complete night to the booker. You’ll be saving them work!

     Last night TJ and I had the great pleasure of hosting a Webinar-Hangout with our good buddy, Mr. Ray Higdon, and let’s just say, “He delivered the goods!”
The coolest part, is that our friend and valued Elite Marketing Pro Member, Rebecca Woodhead, generously provided some of the best notes I’ve seen in a long time, with graphs and circle charts – so cool!

In either case, there were to really important points that Ray made that will prove to be time-less and helpful to new bloggers or anyone looking to RE-IGNITE their “dead” blog.

1. Why Blogging Will Never Die – Now is the Time to Learn How to Start Blogging

We’ve heard it dozens of times… Facebook PPC is dead. Twitter is dead. LinkedIn PPC is too expensive, it won’t catch on. But, rarely, and I mean RARELY do you hear: “Blogging is Dead.”
And there’s a damn good reason for that – Blogger’s will never go away. In fact, I’ve heard it twice just this week (and you can call me crazy), “Blogger’s will rule the world of content in the coming years.”
Why is that? Well, because people trust people.
We will always take our ‘good buddy over at the Magnetic Sponsoring blog’s advice over “Facebook ad that sends me to a capture page with a promise that I’ll get X-result”. Right?
So, if you’re not blogging yet, NOW is the best time to start. You’ve got the ability to jump start your blog even faster than Ray did back 3 years ago right here.

2. How to Start Blogging by Being Authentically YOU

This is something that I struggled with for a LONGGGG time. It’s freakin’ hard. All of this noise going on around us and all these wonderful marketers getting these fantastic results. Who do we ‘follow’? Do we do this… or do we do that? Wow, she made $1200 in 4 days?! I haven’t made a dime yet and she makes it look so easy!
Want the secret?
Stop comparing yourself to ‘them’. Most of the time they’ve been at it for a while. Building their brand. Honing their skills in relationship building, marketing, and influence.
Ray couldn’t have put it any better. “Everyday when I create a new video, I always wake up in the morning asking the question: How can I beat yesterday’s video?”
He doesn’t compare himself to anyone else. He seeks to be better than yesterday’s Ray Higdon. That’s it, and quite frankly, that’s much more inspiring than trying to be “The God of Internet Marketing.”
Seek to be better than you were yesterday. Grow. Make Mistakes. And be Authentically YOU.

     Dres, of legendary Queens duo "Black Sheep", shared his thoughts on Kanye West's new music, as well as his relationship with Kim Kardashian. "The Choice is Yours" rapper started out by saying, "Kanye... like Steve Jobs... is one of the most powerful gay men in the world.... God Bless Him."
The tweet, which was later deleted, stirred up a bunch of controversy; however, he later apologized, tweeting "In no way were my words ment to be a slight to the gay community.... everything else is whatever yo." 
On Thursday morning, Dres stirred up more controversy by tweeting about Kanye's relationship with Kim Kardashian. 
"Kanye West does not like black people...drops mic.. makes coffee. Besides not being crazy bout his music... i don't agree with the message he sends our people.. at all... I hoped him to be a better artist. and having a child with the biggest media whore of our generation.. literally and figuratively... what a horrible message to young ladies."

 Remember When!??!  Jimmy 'Henchmen' Rosemond Charged.  Life Sentence?!

     Former rap manager/mogul James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond has been hit with 13 charges related to his role in a drug dealing operation that the government claims earned more than $10 million annually, in drug proceeds. According to reports, the 46-year-old has been charged with maintaining a “supervisory and management position” in a continuing criminal enterprise that began trafficking large amounts of cocaine in 2007.          
    Federal authorities are seeking to confiscate Rosemond's $1 million-dollar condominium on the Hudson River in Manhattan, as well as a luxury condo in BelTell, Brooklyn worth almost $3 million. Rosemond faces up to life in prison if he is convicted on the drug charges, alone. He has pleaded not guilty.

THE “STAY IN SCHOOL” PROJECT

TEACHING STUDENTS’ RIGHTS, REDUCING SCHOOL DROPOUT

The “School to Prison Pipeline” refers to a national trend that pushes students out of school and into the juvenile justice and criminal justice systems. School push out occurs because of:
  • the failure of our educational system to meet students needs
  • zero tolerance discipline policies that result in high rates of suspension and expulsion, and
  • the use of police officers in schools that can criminalize inappropriate youthful behavior, sometimes even at the elementary and middle school level.
The “Stay in School” ProjectIn Delaware, one-size-fits-all zero tolerance policies have led to an alarming number of suspensions and expulsions of students that is consistently above the national average. Students of color and students with disabilities are most often victims of the pipeline.
ACLU-DE has been active in educating and advocating about this issue. In May of 2011, we reached an agreement with Christina School District, which has the highest suspension and expulsion rates in the state, to modify their school disciplinary procedures to ensure fairer treatment of students.
We have worked with the School Discipline Task Force to develop legislation has been developed to improve school discipline policies statewide. It will be introduced in January 2012.
We are also developing the Stay in School project. This project will provide vulnerable youth and their parents information about their due process rights when it comes to school discipline policies and some skills that can be used to avoid suspensions, expulsions, police contact, and court involvement.
ACLU-DE is currently seeking agencies and projects that serve youth in after school programs to partner with us on the Stay in School Project.  Student workshops in afterschool settings will begin in the early months of 2012.

Remember When?!!? Tru Life Charged With 1st Degree Murder

Former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam artist Tru Life was arrested last 
night (June 23) to face a charge of 1st degree murder, according to reports.

The charge is possibly tied to a brutal stabbing incident last week that left one man seriously injured, and an 18-year old teen dead.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, police were initially investigating Tru Life’s brother for a retaliation attack in the non-fatal shooting of Michael Slater.

The individual, whom police suspect is a drug dealer, was shot in the stomach outside of club Pacha.

Several hours after the crime, police claim five gang members ambushed 30 year old Jason Black and the unnamed teen at a Manhattan apartment complex.

Both men were stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face. Black survived the assault, while the unidentified teen succumbed to his wounds.

At the time, police theorized that the back and forth violence was the result of a feud between Jason Black and Tru Life’s brother.

A 1st degree murder charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison under New York law.

If an official or witness is not the victim, the distinction can also be decreed for murders involving multiple parties or tortuous killings.

Tru Life’s last music effort, “Wet ‘em Up,” was heard as a selection on the soundtrack toGrand Theft Auto IV.

 At press time, Tru Life could not be reached for comment.

Researchers at Purdue University have developed a new miniature medical sensor that uses the bass of Hip-Hop music to power and recharge itself.
The researchers at Birck Nanotechnology Center at the Discovery Park in West Lafayette created the device that is known as a microelectromechanical system (MEMS).
A study found that acoustic waves for music, especially rap, effectively recharge the device’s pressure sensor.
The professors used a number of genres of music to test the sensor, including Jazz, Blues, and Rock.
“Rap is best because it contains a lot of low frequency sound, notably the bass,” said Babak Ziaie, a Purdue University professor of electrical/computer engineering and biomedical engineering. 
The acoustic waves from music or plain tones drive a vibrating device called a cantilever, which sends a charge to power the sensor.
Ziaie, who has applied for a patent for the new technology, further explained how the device actually works.
“Music within a certain range of frequencies, from 200-500 hertz, causes the cantilever to vibrate, generating electricity and storing a charge in a capacitor,” Ziaie explained.
“The music reaches the correct frequency only at certain times, for example, when there is a strong bass component,” he said. “The acoustic energy from the music can pass through body tissue, causing the cantilever to vibrate.”
Perdue hopes the device might help to treat people stricken with aneurisms or incontinence due to paralysis.
The researchers are positioning the new technology to replace existing sensors, which typically rely on batteries or inductance through coils, to send their electrical charge.
The findings are being detailed in a paper that is being presented during the IEEE MEMS conference that is taking place until February 2.
